Labor Day Weekend

The "end" of summer has arrived.  I did a lot of different things this weekend.

Friday Reef and I went over to Eric and Heather's house to do a fantasy football draft, yes, you heard that right. I am doing a fantasy football league this year, and I am very excited for it! I picked up some chinese food from my so-far-favorite chinese place, Quick Wok.  The draft went well and we all sat around and ate our chinese food and drank beers long after the draft was over. A very nice start to a long weekend.

Saturday I started Reef up in his obedience classes once again. So at 10:30 we went to class. It was fun to see the new dogs and after we worked them hard they all got to play with each other.  The trainer was so impressed with Reef's behavior she let me take off his gentle leader and just use a slip leash to train him.  Im not saying he is perfect, but he is doing great! After class we went home and played/ layed out in the sun for a bit. I went to a Hawaiian BBQ later that night. It was super fun and lots of yummy new foods to try. I also met a lot of new people :) I made homemade reeces peaunt butter bars. They are super easy to make and really good! An added bonus is that they dont need to be baked which I loved. I couldnt imagine turning on the oven in this heat we are having.. Here is the link if you want to make them! http://mybakerlady.com/2012/01/16/reeses-peanut-butter-bars/  (mine did not look as perfect as the picture).

Sunday I was lazy most of the day. Besides shopping, of course. I ran a few errands and then went to the Carlsbad Outlet Mall. Funny enough I heard from the janitor at the school I work at that they were having a big memorial day sale.  Sure enough, they were. I didnt spend too much money and I had fun! I got a new Coach purse- on sale for $68 plus 30% off, a steal if you ask me.  Since the purse I got is smaller then the one I have now I bought a new wallet also. Purse is black, wallet is hot pink! Looks cute.  I got baby Brielle a million things. I cant stop shopping for this little girl. I spoil her and I havent even met her yet!

The rest of Saturday I did a whole lot of nothing. Just relaxed and watched movies..

Monday Which is today... I got up early and cleaned. I mean a good cleaning for once. Not just a pick up. I shook the rugs, cleaned the toliets, swiffered the floor, dusted, vaccumed, everything. I was feeling so motivated I even cleaned my TOMS and BOBS (shoes). I had to watch a tutorial video on how to clean them so you dont ruin them. They came out looking brand new. I just need them to dry. I have also been working on my calenders for work. I am trying to get calenders made through December so I dont have to worry about them when Robbie gets home. I know that will be the last thing that I will want to worry about.  Oh and speaking of Robbie we only have about 2 months left until he comes home! It may sound like a long time to you- but when 5 months have already passed 2 seems like nothing. And they should go by fast.  Tonight for dinner I am making this:  http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2011/06/crock-pot-hawaiian-bbq-chicken.html crock pot hawaiian chicken. Looks yummy and easy. And it should last me the week :) I plan to take Reef for a sunset walk as our closing to the weekend.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend! Oh, and I am excited to meet baby Brielle in just a few week back in Minnesota!

Friday Favorites

Here are a few of my favorite things about this week:

Okay, he didnt send me this pic this week-but its goofy and I love it.  Happy birthday to Robbie!!! My FAVORITE man

Taking Reef for walks, my new FAVORITE  location- Oceanside Harbor.

School started Thursday. Robbie reminded me that it was my 19th first day of school.  I am just happy not to be the student :)  Also, the new Kinders and First graders are amazingly cute.  I wish I could take pics of them to show off how cute they are! My not so FAVORITE  thing about school starting is that I wake up at 545am so I can be to work by 645am. EW.

Lastly, I had dinner with Heather EVERY day this week.  She showed/made me her new FAVORITE drink. I think it was called a pink bikini. 1 cup malibu rum, 1 cup ameretto, 1 bottle simply raspberry lemonade.  Yummy!

Sunset Walks

Now that Reef is becoming a little more mature I have been taking him on walks in public.  We have been going on sunset walks for the past 3 nights in a row.  They have been a very good ending to our days! Here are a few things we see...

Its hard to believe that I live here. Feels like vacation everyday.

Back home

Hello All,

I am finally back home in California.  My dad was nice enough to bare the drive out here with me-thank god. I could never do it alone.  So after 2 long days of driving we arrived.  We went to all the favorite out to eat cheap places, Mexico Viejo, Brooklyn Bros Pizza, and had an awesome night of grilling yummy filets.  It feels really good to be back home, and it is nice to have some alone time once again. I just need the motivation to start unpacking all of my bags, ugh! I have been able to catch up with a few friends already, but there is much more to come. I also started working a little. I have worked a whopping 8.5 hours so far this week, but I have another meeting to attend later this week.  Feels good to be on a schedule again. School starts up on August 23rd. I cant wait to see the kids and start making some extra money.  Reef is comfortable back home. He is sleeping in all of his normal spots and seems to be less hyper than he was back in MN.  We will see if that keeps up- hopefully!

I bought a tomatoe plant, snap dragons, and succulants! I am very excited for them, I am just hoping I can keep them alive!

I will leave you all with this amazingly cute picture of Reef.

Pintrest.

So, while Robbie is away we are having fun pinning stuff on pintrest for each other to look at.

http://pinterest.com/brianagawboy/ You can check out some of the fun things we have pinned on the boards "Robbies Return" and "For the man"

All of the other boards are fun to look at too!

I only have one day left in MN. And this quote pretty much sums up the way I feel about packing.  Wish me luck!

A message from Robbie

I figured that since Briana will be writing all of you, I will give you updates from Afghanistan as well.  I am staying safe in this giant sandbox, and actually find it almost enjoyable when I get to go work with my Afghan counter parts.  It is cool to see them take the advice I have for them, and improve the system that they have in place.  It is rare that that happens, but it is awesome when it does.  Other than that... it is HOT here, lots of sand, and no water.  Man I miss the beach!!! Now take how much I miss the beach multiply that by about 100,000 and you have how much I miss my little fur baby known as Reef.  Multiply that by almost infinity, and you have how much I miss my beautiful wife!  For those that follow this, and don't know what a deployment is like...It sucks!  haha.  Well, I know there are some people out here that enjoy their time, but most of them are single and rolling in the money they are making!  Anyways, the extra money is nice, and our is going to our honeymoon:)  Just in case you didn't understand how much I miss my wife before, finding the patience to wait for that week knowing that I get to spend 7 nights on a tropical island with the girl of my dreams just might kill me.  And I thought Briana didn't have any patience.  Anyways, enjoy your day, and say a prayer for the families that have someone over seas.  I know those of us who are deployed get thought about all of the time, but we wouldn't survive here without the support from our loved ones at home.

Back at it. In MN

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. Of course, I have been slacking once again...
Here is a little up-to-date info:

RObbie is in Afgahnastan. He left April 16, 2012 and he will return sometime early November. Reef and I are in MN enjoying the company of family and friends. It is a big help in making the time go by. We will head back to San Diego in a week. I am very excited to go back home and get in the swing of our daily routine again!

I will upload pictures soon. For now I made this, showing how Reef has been spending his summer in MN.
