Photos as promised from Robbie's Birthday!

This weekend was awesome.. We went to a lot of new places. Friday after work we just stayed in and had dinner and played some games. Very exciting night, I know. Saturday we got up early and went to the Italian Farmer's Market in Little Italy downtown San Diego. It was awesome! So many people, dogs, flowers, and awesome food. We had amazing lemonades- Robbie got strawberry, and I got cucumber mint- so good! We also had, hands down, most amazing paninis ever! We will definatly be going back there in the near future! We bought some french white bread, 2 different hummus' and pita chips! Everything was so fresh! After the market we went to Pacific Beach. Very pretty, but very busy, and freezing cold water. We wandered around Leucadia at night. Ate yummy wings and had plenty of beers. It was an awesome Saturday. Today was spent at the Leucadia art fair, and Solana Beach. I went swimming today, this is significant because it is usually too cold around here to actually go under the water. Robbie wanted me to boogy board so I made him happy and I was in the water for about an hour. An even bigger plus about Solana Beach is that dogs are allowed on it!! So cute to watch the puppys jump over the big waves!

S'more bar!

I will try these some day

first day of school.

Don't be fooled by the title of this post. I did not go back to school... I got a job. As a teacher...I work for another non-profit org. and its for an afterschool enrichment program , and I am a "program specialist." So everyday from 2-6 I go to an elementary school and I have my very own classroom and I teach academic hour so I help with homework and have worksheets and strategy games and stuff for them to do and we rotate through 1st to 5th graders.(there are 5 teachers) It's fun. The first day of school just started yesterday. I am looking forward to get to know the kids better. Since we had short rotations yesterday I want the kids to fill out a notecard about themselves. I asked 8 basic questions like fav food, fav sport, fav color etc... lets just say i got some pretty crazy answers. I like trying to decipher what they are trying to spell. Like "Nobemder" for November.. I'm sure I will have some funny stories throughout the year!!

Robbie is now a whole year older. Woo Hoo for 23!! He got the day off for his birthday since he had 24 hour duty the day before! We went to the beach, he rode some waves on his surf board, we went to Leucadia and walked around the cute town and went taco shop hopping. (The act of eating one taco per taco shop, until you determine the best place). It was awesome. We went home for cake and ice cream with friends. It was a fun night!!

Blogger wont let me upload pics :(  I will try again later (sorry)!

Have an Awesome weekend!

Lookin'

This past week was spent looking for a job...not my favorite activity I must say. Robbie and I are finally feeling the stress of only having one income, but wanting to spend money like we have two. Doesn't work out so good. I have applied to a couple places, and had an interview at one, but nothing promising yet. Looks like I know what I am doing next week too.

On Friday, we went to the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego. It was a lot of fun! We went with Eric and Heather and Heather's friend Gina, who is visiting from Maryland. (Photos to come).

Today I sit alone. Robbie has 24 hour duty so I wont be able to see him until Monday night. Which also happens to be his birthday!!! Woo Hoo!

So, we went out to eat for pizza in Carlsbad Village with some guys from Robbie's unit last night and we came across the cutest dog I have ever seen! The picture that I took was pretty blurry since I was basically being a creep and taking it from far away but this is what we saw.....

This my friends is a WHITE golden retreiever... aka English Retriever- photo from google.com
I WANT THIS DOG so bad! So, when the time comes, December or later.... this dog will def. be at the top of our list!!!

Back to the norm...

Well, there is too much to catch up on at this point. So we will just start fresh, and with a mini recap of the past month... I had a birthday, we went to the San Diego Zoo, we are meeting new friends, we only have one messy room in our house left, I went home for 3 weeks, Robbie went to Georgia for 3 weeks for jump school, we are both back home. THE END.

I would like to touch on one event that happened recently, and that is that my sister flew back to CA with me for the week. We had an awesome time and we saw some pretty neat places. It was weird actually having to drive myself into these new places, but I did it and we all survived! We got in late Monday night, but on Tuesday we went shopping for some outfits my sister could wear in her senior pics- we found an awesome white dress, and a pretty blue shirt to go with a skirt she already had, and of course a completely new outfit of skinny jeans and a baggy burnt orange shirt. Love it all! After shopping we went to Carlsbad Village and walked around and then decided to go to Leucadia Beach right down the street from my house. On Wednesday we ventured off to Coronado. It was so scary driving over "suicide bridge" (I always thought the San Fran bridge was called this, but apparently this one is too). I was freaked out to say the least, but it had awesome views of downtown San Diego. We went to the beach right by the Hotel Del Coronado and tanned most of the afternoon. We walked around and went shopping and ate an amazing burger at Burger Lounge once it got too chilly to sit out on the beach. Thursday, we went to Laguna Beach. It was awesome, and beautiful. I am definatly planning on bringing Robbie there soon! Friday, we went to La Jolla Cove with my friend Heather. There were so many seals and snorklers it was cool to watch! We made friends with a seagul-he would not get off of our beach blanket, so we just learned to deal with it. We also picked Robbie up from the airport Friday night (25 days apart was not fun!). Saturday was spent at Sea World. We all loved the shows and the aquariums. I cant wait to go back! Marisa left early Sunday morning. After dropping her off at the airport Robbie and I went back to bed for a much needed nap, since we woke up at 5, and then we relaxed all day; catching up from the past 3 weeks.

The week my sister was here I swear we went back to June Gloom. It was chilly and cloudy all week. This week is different we are actually getting a taste of summer. 80's and sunny! Perfect. We are going to the beach tonight to get our boogy boarding and surfing on.

*I promise to keep up with my blog from now on... it isnt realistic to think I can post everyday, but I promise it will be more than once a month!*

Carlsbad, CA

Hello All,

Well, we are finally ALMOST all settled in. I love our new home, and it is fun trying to figure out a way that fits both of our lifestyles!! I never thought of my self as a stay at home wife...but I'm starting to like it. I know in time I will be bored out of my mind, so a job is a must, but for now I am "living the dream." Robbie goes to base and works everyday from about 8-4, some days shorter, some longer. Me on the other hand... I sleep in until about 9 then I read my book (I am on my 4th book since I have been here) then I get up and exercise, then I go to the beach for a few hours with my new friends Paige and Heather who both happen to be from Maryland. Then, I come home make dinner and relax the rest of the evening. Wake up and repeat! Tough life I know! We also got a new car!! A red 2010 Jetta S. I wasn't able to go anywhere when Robbie was at work and I was getting pretty bored sitting inside and reading! I love it, definatly an upgrade from my monte carlo!

Until I have more to say I will leave you with photos.

4th of July, Birthday, and House posts soon to come!

P.S. our house is 3.9 miles away from the beach!! come visit us!

Nearing the end of the road trip!

Day 6-8: Somewhere in AZ to Las Vegas. We stayed in Vegas for 2 nights and then drove to Carlsbad, CA (aka home).

Vegas was a crazy fun time. We walked up and down the strip, we ate amazing food, we went to the wax museum, we shopped, we went to a show, we gambled, and we drank. That about sums up Vegas. We are 100% for sure that we are going to go back in the near future. There is just so much to see and do. We never made it over to Freemont street which is off the strip, we never got to hang out by the pool during the day, we didnt gamble as much as we wanted to, and we wanted to go to more shows. The second day that we were there we met up with Matt Wegner. He took us out to dinner at the stratosphere which was AMAZING! Such a great dinner. Then we went to MGM Grand to see KÀ by Cirque du Soleil. Which was also AMAZING! We ended the night around 4am after a lot of gambling and drinking. It was a great time!

We stayed at Treasure Island and they had pirate shows every night

Life in Carlsbad to be continued...

Roadtrip Continued...

Day 3: Thermopolis, WY to Jackson Hole, WY to somewhere in Idaho.
After we walked around the hot springs for a while we left and headed towards Jackson Hole. This might have been my favorite day of our trip. I loved the snow caps mountains. They were so beautiful! Once we got to Jackson Hole we took a tram up into the Grand Tetons where we could get off and hike around the mountain. There was still tons of snow up top but it was actually very warm (52 degrees) for being the top of a mountain. We hiked around for a bit, got something to drink in the tiny cafe that was up there and then made our way back down the mountain on the tram. When they advertise the tram they say that you can usually see wildlife on your way up or down the mountain. We unfortunatly didnt see anything.

Views from on top of the mountain!

Once we left Jackson Hole we headed towards Idaho. We drove until we were about a hour away from the Great Salt Lake and decided it was a good place to stay for the night.

Day 4: Somewhere in Idaho to Great Salt Lake, UT to Lake Powell, AZ

We got up early once again, and drove an hour until we reached Antelope Island State Park which is on the Great Salt Lake. Very decieving name since we only saw one antelope. We explored the island for about 4 hours. We saw some pretty cool stuff, but the bugs there were terrible.

We stayed in Page, AZ for the night.

Day 5: Lake Powell, AZ to Grand Canyon to somewhere in AZ

Lake Powell looked just like the ocean, but even better because it was fresh water! We rented a kayak and paddled an hour over to a sandbar that we hung out at for a few hours. It was so peaceful and relaxing actually staying in once place for a little while and not worrying about sight seeing and making good time so we could get to the next place. We just simply relaxed.

A great day ended terribly when we went to the Grand Canyon. I dont get what is so special about it. I get that it is one of the 7 wonders of the world, but why? We drove through the National Park and stopped at all the little posts. But, there is only one view. The posts just bring you to a different angle. It was frustrating. We were at the Grand Canyon long enough to get a few pictures and to say that we have been there but then we made our way to a hotel and spent the night.

And thats that!
