Lots of fun things going on lately. Shauna's wedding is creeping around the corner so I have been doing lots of activities for that. We had her family wedding shower that went very well. I loved all of her gifts I cant wail until I get to go out and register for my gifts! Then we also had the grooms dinner at Buca. To say the least it was a crazy night, but tons of fun. I cant even imagine what Mexico is going to be like! I am very excited only 2 weeks away! (Pics of shower and grooms dinner coming soon).

I am writing in a rush today. I am going to see Robbie in just a few hours. DeAnn is picking me up from the airport in 3 hours and I still havent packed. Typical me. I am so excited to see him. The weather there is supposed to be in the upper 30's which should feel like a heat wave compared to here since we have been in negative degrees this past week. I dont exactly know what we are going to do while we are in VA, but I know the Marine Corps has a lot planned for us tomorrow. (I will also post pics of this when I get home).

Lastly, we got our engagement pictures back from Bellagala. I definatly dont recommend drinking the night before you get your pictures taken..(only because she had cancelled on us twice before this date). The good pictures are very good, but the bad ones are really bad!!! Here are a few. We also took our own pictures (the ones posted on facebook).

This & That

Where to begin....I had a long weekend of working. Seems to be the story of my life. Besides working I was trying to plan some stuff for my wedding and pull together some pieces for Shauna's wedding. I also got to spend some time with my Aunt Karen and cousin Jamie! I havent been out with Jamie since she turned 21 so that was nice to catch up and have a drink with her!

I have been bored out of my mind lately so I decided to start making things, and doing more things that I enjoy. I have made a list of the things I want to do in the next few weeks:
1. Crochet a hat (Chelsea tried to teach my, not sure I have the patience)
2. Cook/ bake
3. Make a sign- of who knows what
4. Finish reading a book
5. Become a better photographer

Hopefully these little things will keep me busy between the times I am working and  planning for the wedding. On Wednesday I am going to meet with a florist hopefully I like them and we can book them adding another check mark to the never ending list.

I've taken a lot of pictures lately. I am trying to document my life day by day and remember each little piece of it. So attached to this blog you will find my pictures. To my friends these pictures will be nothing new, just the same 'ol awkward pictures I love to take. (A note to my friends: some day you girls will be happy you had me as a friend to document all of us together. We may not have the prettiest collection of pictures, but they are real!)

Some good news: My dad finally got switched to days! Hopefully our household will get back to a normal functioning schedule within the next few weeks.

I get to see Robbie in a week!!!!!

Oh and I wanted to share a link with you guys... My current obsession is THIS blog. I fell in love with her story. Go to the link at the top that says "start here if you are new" and read about Nella's birth story. I was sucked in from the start and I couldn't help but to donate $5 to her ONEder fund! It feels so good to give back so early in the new year! I plan to give back more this year, its an amazing feeling what a small amount of money can do to your self esteem!

Here are my pictures- enjoy!

life as i know it...

An explanation to the name of my blog...

It didnt hit me til about a month ago that this will be my last winter in Minnesota for a couple of years.  I know that I will always be with my family for the Holidays so I know that its not the last I'll be able to enjoy this wonderful weather, but still, its sad to think about. I am very weird and actually enjoy wintertime and all it has to offer. I think that if it is going to be cold there better be snow too.  Back to the point... so, being that it is my "last" winter in MN I realized that I have never experienced anything other than this, in my life. I have never moved more than a couple miles away (and only once at that), I have always lived at home with my family (besides mankato for two years but that hardly counts since I was home almost every weekend), I have always had the same group of friends, and I have always had the same jobs.  So, point being, this is life as i know it. It will be a huge change for me when I move. I am going to have to learn how to live on my own/ learn to live with Robbie. I am going to have to figure out how to cook something more than macaroni and cheese and frozen pizzas, I am going to have to make new friends, go to a new school (eventually), and find a new job. Everything will be NEW, but I am not scared for it to happen I am very excited and I hope that I can grow from every new experience I encounter and this beautiful life will lay out nicely.

a little catch up

So, I decided to start a blog. Mainly for a way my family and friends can see what I am doing and experiencing in my life once I leave Minnesota. I thought now would be a good time to start blogging since our wedding is just under 5 months away, and time will be moving fast. Hopefully I can keep up with this and share my thoughts as I try new things and learn how to adjust to the changes I will soon experience.

I am excited to start my life with Robbie in June! We got news that we will be living near San Diego for the next couple of years. Since everyone always wants to know our situation here it is:

No, me and Robbie do not live together.
I see Robbie about 1 time a month for about 3 days.
Robbie is a Marine. Not in the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
Robbie is currently in Richmond VA. He will be moving to North Carolina soon for more schooling. He is a Logistics Officer. He will be there until the end of May.
We are getting married June 4, 2011.
I graduated from the University of MN with my BA in Psychology. I NEED to go back to school or I will drive myself crazy from boredem.
I feel like there is definatly more to life than just working, but right now thats all I have to do. Its sad to say but I can't "afford" to do anything else.
I am in the process of planning our wedding. It is very stressful but fun at the same time. I am very interested to see how everything will lay out.

Wedding Info:

Robbie proposed to me on Sept. 2, 2010. It was amazing, wouldn't have wanted it any other way! I found my dress before I knew any details about my wedding.... such a girl, I know. We are getting married at the Crowne Plaza in Minneapolis. We have 8 very important people in our wedding party. For bridesmaids I have chosen to have my friends Kal Frane, Jenna Marolt, and my sisiter Marisa. My maid of honor will be my cousin Shauna.  All these girls are very special to me and mean the world to me. I dont know what I would be with out them, they are always there for me and always have given me the advice I needed :) I love you girls! Robbie chose to have his good friends Cory Jackson, CK McKenzie, and brother Zack as groomsmen, and long time best friend Brad Griffore as his best man. I am very excited to share our special day with the people who have helped us throughout our lives.

Obviously, purple is the color theme of our wedding. It will also have some military traditions. As most of you know I would love for Lexi to be in my wedding but I wont do it for the sake of judgements! Haha :)
